Our 2018 Summer Beer Lineup

The cherry trees are blossoming in Vancouver, and we’re in the mood for change at Granville Island Brewing. We’re excited to announce our beer lineup for summer 2018.

We’re serving up a mixture of returning seasonal favourites and some new additions to our Small Batch program.

Here’s how the summers shaping up:

Returning Summer Seasonals

Lions Summer Ale – Available Now
False Creek Raspberry Ale – Available Now

Our two summer seasonals from 2017 are returning for another year of patios, BBQs and summer shenanigans.

What they have in common is balance. Both of these brews are refreshing and flavourful, which is why they make great summer staples.

As always, our summer seasonals are brewed with natural fruit ingredients; Fraser Valley raspberries are used in our Raspberry Ale; natural passionfruit and pineapple juices are used in our Lions Summer Ale.

Both of these brews will be available across most of Canada at bars, restaurants and liquor stores.

New Summer Mingler Mix Packs

Summer Mingler 12 Bottle – Lions Summer Ale, False Creek Raspberry Ale, Sunshine Coast Hefeweizen, English Bay Pale Ale
Summer Mingler 12 Can – Lions Summer Ale, False Creek Raspberry Ale, English Bay Pale Ale, Cypress Honey Lager.

Our Summer Minglers are back with refreshed mixes. Inside both, you’ll be able to find a mixture of year-round favourites and refreshing summer seasonals. Perfect for parties or BBQs when you’re in need of a mixture of styles to please friends, family and new acquaintances.

Our Summer Minglers are available accross most of Canada.

Small Batch Year-Rounds

West CoastSo-CalPNW

West Coast Pale Ale – Available Now
Pacific Northwest Porter *New*– Available Now
So-Cal Style IPA *Now Year-Round* – From May 3rd

Our venerable West Coast Pale Ale is still available for your summer drinking pleasure. We’ve also got two new Small Batch brews joining our year-round lineup.

First up is our new Pacific Northwest Porter. A porter might not sound like a perfect fit for summer, but this one’s a little different. The addition of whole leaf hops to a traditional porter base brings out notes of pine and coffee under a subtle hop flavour. It’s a Pacific Northwest spin on a classic beer style and a true delight. Check it out.

Making the jump from seasonal to year-round is our So-Cal Style IPA. It’s been a seasonal hit for the last few years and we’ve decided it deserves a year-round rotation. Big and bold, it’s indicative of IPAs found in the San Diego region with some delicious fruity hop notes.

We’re happy to say you can find our Small Batch year-round beers in bomber bottles across BC, Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, while you can also find our West Coast Pale Ale and So-Cal Style IPA in Quebec.

Small Batch Seasonals

Gose with Peach – Available Now
West Coast Farmhouse Saison – From July 16

Returning for the third-year running is our Gose with Peach. This summer classic won gold in the ‘Best Historical Beer’ category at last year’s BC Beer Awards. Ripe fruit notes from the peaches round out a subtle tartness in our take on a traditional German Gose.

New for 2018 is our West Coast Farmhouse Saison. Launching mid-summer, fruit, pepper and spice notes meet a schwack of local hops from Chilliwack for a crisp, refreshing and slightly funky West Coast take on a classic Farmhouse Saison. Look for more info on this brew over the coming months.

You’ll be able to find both seasonal brews on draft and in bomber bottles across BC, Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

That’s it for now. Get out there and enjoy the sun.

I’m going to be buying my Raspberry beer this Summer from your competition at Grizzly Paw Brewing in Canmore. The only bottles of your False Creek Raspberry that are available in a bottle are in the Summer Sampler....I only want Raspberry and I don’t like my beer in a can, the taste just isn’t the same. Please make your 6pack bottles available in Alberta again. Sincerely, Suzanne.
