Cocktails With Beer – Lions Winter Ale

With complex layers of vanilla, cocoa and caramel, our Lions Winter Ale gives you plenty to get warm and cozy with.

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker (Boston shaker)
  • Boston Strainer
  • Jigger or Ounce measure
  • Stirring Spoon
  • Ice/ice scoop

Lion By The Fire

Chocolate, vanilla and coffee notes complement our the Lions Winter Ale

Ingredients (for two drinks)

  • 2oz Kahlua
  • 1oz Cold Brew Coffee
  • 6oz Lions Winter Ale
  • Garnish (optional)
    • Chocolate covered coffee beans, a few per drink
  • Ideal glassware
    • Tall, narrow highball glasses

Method (for two drinks)

  • Fill your glasses fully with ice and set aside.
  • Fill your shaker with ice, roughly half to ¾ full.
  • Use your jigger measure and pour the following into the shaker.
    • 2oz Kahlua
    • 1oz Cold Brew Coffee
  • Close shaker and shake for a few seconds.
  • Use the strainer to strain the liquid into one half of the shaker, leaving the ice in the other half. The ice can now be discarded.
  • Measure and gently pour 6oz of Lions Winter Ale into cocktail mix, and stir gently to incorporate.
  • Pour the cocktail equally over ice into the two prepared glasses.
  • Add the garnish on the side and serve.

Winter In Vanhattan

A classic martini with a Lions Winter Ale twist.

Ingredients (for two drinks)

  • 1oz Bourbon
  • 1oz Port
  • 1oz Galliano
  • 4oz Lions Winter Ale
  • 3 dashes of bittered sling chocolate bitters
  • Garnish (optional)
    • Chocolate dipped maraschino cherries
  • Ideal glassware
    • Champagne style coupe.

Method (for two drinks)

  • Fill your glasses fully with ice and set aside. This is just to chill the glasses, the ice will be dumped our before pouring.
  • Fill your shaker with ice, roughly half to ¾ full.
  • Use your jigger measure and pour the following into the shaker.
    • 1oz Bourbon
    • 1oz Port
    • 1oz Galliano
  • Close shaker and shake for a few seconds.
  • Use the strainer to strain the liquid into one half of the shaker, leaving the ice in the other half. The ice can now be discarded.
  • Measure and gently pour 4oz of Lions Winter Ale into cocktail mix, and stir gently to incorporate.
  • Dump the ice from the chilled glasses.
  • Pour the cocktail equally into the two prepared glasses.
  • Add to each cocktail three dashes of bitters, garnish the rim, and serve.

Lions-Nogg

The taste of two holiday classics combine.

Ingredients (for two drinks)

  • 2 egg whites
  • 2oz Kraken spiced rum
  • 1oz Galliano
  • 4oz Lions Winter Ale
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • Pinch of Nutmeg
  • Garnish (optional)
    • Cinnamon Sticks
  • Ideal glassware
    • Brandy style coupe.

Method (for two drinks)

  • Fill your glasses fully with ice and set aside.
  • Separate the egg whites and pour them into the shaker.
  • Shake the egg whites vigorously.
  • Pour the egg white into one ½ of the shaker.
  • Use your jigger measure and pour the following into the shaker.
    • 2oz Kraken
    • 1oz Galliano
  • Close shaker and shake for a few seconds.
  • Measure and gently pour 4oz of Lions Winter Ale into cocktail mix, and stir gently to incorporate.
  • Stir the mixture
  • Pour the cocktail equally over ice into the two prepared glasses.
  • Garnish with the cinnamon sticks.
